COMPLETION PACKERS
TIW Corporation began designing and manufacturing downhole tools to solve specific problems in 1917, and soon established a reputation for innovation and technological response to the industries needs. Offering practical designs for drilling and completion equipment, the company began early to manufacture "Shirt-Tail" Packers, using canvas and burlap for packoff material. "Rope" Packers with manila rope wrapped about them were also produced. When the formation sloughed, the rope would swell and bridge. In 1941, TIW was granted a patent on the first Hookwall Packer with an automatic bottom. In 1964, they developed the "Gold Seal" Packoff Ring to protect the packing element from distortion during run in, to reduce “cold-flow" and ensure a positive seal, under the most severe conditions. Today, after more than 90 years, TIW continues to respond to the oil industry with a full line of innovative completion tools. Whether the application requirement is for Production, Gas Lift, Gravel Pack, Stimulation or Testing TIW packer systems are designed for maximum flexibility, simplicity and reliability.
